We are filming this video from the Knesset as we are here for the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast. This day marks a solemn milestone—600 days since the beginning of captivity for many. In light of this, Isaiah 61 must be more than a promise; it must be a directive. Proclaim good news to the poor. Bind up the brokenhearted. Declare freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. Comfort those who mourn. Stand with those who grieve in Zion. This is not a passive call—it is a charge to act, to intercede, and to be a voice for the voiceless. Let us rise in obedience to this prophetic mandate and pray fervently for the release of the remaining 58 hostages and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Wildfires in Manitoba and Saskatchewan

Massive wildfires continue to sweep across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, prompting states of emergency and the evacuation of over 17,000 residents. Fueled by hot, dry, and windy conditions, the fires have burned hundreds of thousands of hectares—far exceeding seasonal averages.

In Manitoba, the town of Flin Flon is nearly deserted after residents were forced to flee advancing flames. Saskatchewan is battling its own major blazes, including the expansive Camp Fire near Candle Lake. Communities like Creighton and Pelican Narrows have also been evacuated, with the Canadian Armed Forces assisting remote First Nations such as Mathias Colomb Cree Nation.

The smoke has created hazardous air quality stretching far beyond provincial borders, reaching as far south as the U.S. Midwest and East Coast. Health officials are urging residents to stay indoors and use N95 masks or air purifiers.

With weather forecasts predicting continued dry heat, firefighting crews are bracing for a long and difficult battle. These fires underscore the growing toll of climate-driven extreme weather on Canadian communities.

🇮🇱 Chris and Marilyn are in Israel from May 26 to June 7.

As I settle into this incredible journey, I wanted to share a few thoughts from my first couple of days in Israel.

🛬 We landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, May 27, at 6:00 p.m. local time. As our plane passed the airport and made a wide U-turn, we flew low enough to catch our first glimpse of the land of Israel. Rolling hills stretched beneath us, and the beauty of the landscape took my breath away. Emotion rose in my chest as I realized: this is God's land.

📖 I was reminded of Leviticus 25:23 — “The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is Mine and you reside in My land as foreigners and strangers.” This is the only land in Scripture that God explicitly calls His own. The thought that I would soon be walking not only where Jesus and His disciples once walked, but also on land claimed by God Himself, was both humbling and profound.

😂 On a lighter note, it didn’t take long to realize that Jesus and His disciples must have been in excellent shape—these hills are no joke! My feet, legs, back—everything—are feeling it. The hills of Jerusalem don’t just speak of history; they shout of endurance!
