Just this week, 28 cabinet ministers and 10 secretaries of state were sworn in at Rideau Hall. With the throne speech ahead and the House set to reconvene on May 26, possibly with King Charles in attendance, the political climate is already stirring with opinions and uncertainty. While a majority government may be forming, this moment calls for a Kingdom posture. As believers, we must lift our eyes beyond government structures and policies and refocus on what truly matters: the Kingdom of God. Matthew 6 reminds us that our Father knows what we need before we even ask—and calls us to seek first His Kingdom and righteousness. It’s not about political preferences or national agendas; it’s about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. And most of all, it’s about the people around us—our neighbors—many of whom don’t yet know Jesus. That’s where our greatest concern should be. Let’s not lose sight of our mission: to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to preach the Kingdom, and to live it daily. Eyes to see, ears to hear, feet to go—because the main thing is still the main thing: Jesus, His Kingdom, and the salvation of those around us.
