Many of the issues Habakkuk saw such as corruption, injustice, and moral confusion look a lot like what we see in our own nation today. But the point is not just to notice the problems; it is about how we respond. Habakkuk stood watch, listened for God, and waited with active hopeful faith. That waiting is not passive; it is full of prayer, expectation, and trust.
From this place of watchfulness and obedience, we are called to disciple nations. By sharing what God has done in our lives and being living epistles of His love and mercy, the knowledge of His glory spreads across the earth, covering it like the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk’s example reminds us that this is our mission: to bring God’s righteousness and revelation to the world we live in.
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea."
Habakkuk 2:14

Weekly Prayer Points
Pray for the church that we would wait on the Lord, be attentive to His voice and trust with expectation even in the midst of injustice.
Pray for wisdom and strategy to navigate our changing world. Pray that we would discern how to uphold our faith amid challenges and respond with love and understanding to the new issues affecting those around us. Pray for guidance in addressing the unique challenges that both children and older adults face today, challenges that our society has not encountered before.
Pray that God would give us opportunities to be living testimonies of His love and mercy and that we would have the clarity to see exactly what He is asking us to do and say.
Pray for wisdom and discernment to disciple others effectively, guiding them toward righteousness and truth in a world that increasingly drifts from biblical values.
Pray that the church would not sit back in silence when injustice is seen, but would be awakened to respond with conviction and compassion. Pray for courage to speak truth boldly and to act in ways that reflect God’s justice and righteousness.
"Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause."
Isaiah 1:17
