In this video, Chris connects Bill C-9 and rising antisemitism as part of a deeper, shared issue. Bill C-9 is a threat to religious freedom, while antisemitism targets Jewish people. Both are ultimately rooted in a broader rejection of God, affecting Jewish and Christian communities alike. Jesus warns in John 15:18–19 that if the world hates us, it is because it first hated Him; opposition should not come as a surprise, for standing for God often sets us apart.
In Romans 11, Paul describes a shared foundation in the olive tree between Jews and Christians, showing that hatred of our God encompasses both people groups.
Many of you have been responding practically by contacting MPs about C-9 and reaching out in solidarity with the Jewish community. All of this work is important, but these actions flow from a deeper calling. Jesus said He came to give abundant life, and because He lives in us, we are called to carry and release that life. As Romans 15:13 reminds us, we are to overflow with hope. We are living letters, shining light into the darkness and carrying hope into a world that desperately needs it.
"You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart."
2 Corinthians 3:2-3
The following is a letter posted on Substack by former Member of Parliament Nelly Shin, addressed to the Minister of Justice and the Justice Committee members. We found it both well-written and candid, offering clear insight into the real issues surrounding Bill C-9.
Her letter speaks the truth about the potential impacts of the bill and provides thoughtful perspectives that may not be widely understood. Even if you have not followed this debate closely, reading her words will help shed light on why this legislation matters and why it has sparked concern among many Canadians.

Weekly Prayer Points
Pray for wisdom and discernment to navigate challenges like threats to religious freedom and rising antisemitism with faith and integrity.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill hearts with abundant life and hope; that we would allow His writing on the tablets of our hearts so it would overflow to those around us in tangible ways.
Pray for our government leaders that they would be affected by the "living epistles" around them, inspiring them to stand for truth and righteousness.
Pray for strength and perseverance to remain steadfast in faith, shining light and encouragement into a world that desperately needs it.
Pray that we would not be distracted by the attacks of the enemy and would remain steadfast in faith. Pray that we would not lose sight of our mandate as Christians to be dispensers of hope, peace, love, joy, and life; dispensers of Jesus.
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14–16
