Israel Launches Major Assault on Iran’s Nuclear Program: Operation Rising Lion Underway
Israel has launched a major multi-day military operation against Iran’s nuclear program, called Operation Rising Lion. Over 200 Israeli jets struck Iran’s main uranium enrichment site at Natanz, missile infrastructure, and key personnel, including six nuclear scientists and top generals Major General Mohammad Bagheri and General Hossein Salami.
Prime Minister Netanyahu described the strike as essential to prevent Iran—now close to building nuclear weapons—from threatening Israel’s survival. He emphasized the operation targets the regime, not the Iranian people.
In response, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israel, all reportedly intercepted. Schools and public transport have shut down as Israel braces for further escalation.
This operation follows failed nuclear talks and warnings from former President Trump, who said force might be necessary. The U.S. officially denies direct involvement but supports Israel’s right to self-defense.
Netanyahu declared, “History will record that our generation stood its ground and secured a future.”
The video below was recorded before Thursday night’s events, but we’re including it because its message of resilience is even more relevant today for all Israelis—whether Jewish, Arab, Christian, Druze, or any other people group living in Israel.
Wildfires in Western Canada
Wildfires continue to rage across Western Canada, with over 200 active blazes and little sign of lasting relief. While brief rain is forecast in some areas, it’s unlikely to make a significant impact. Conditions remain dangerously dry, and experts warn the worst may still lie ahead.
Thousands have been evacuated, air quality has plunged, and “zombie fires” from last year are still flaring up. With heat, drought, and wind fueling the flames, the fire season—once seasonal—now feels nearly year-round. Though the fires rage fiercely and hope feels distant, God remains sovereign—even over the wildfires.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you."
Isaiah 43:2
