Chris and Marilyn recently spent several days in Toronto attending the Simeon Initiative Summit—a national gathering of pastors and rabbis addressing the rise of antisemitism in Canada. During their time there, they visited the Toronto Holocaust Museum, where Chris reflected on a sobering historical reality: before the Nazi regime began exterminating Jews, they first targeted vulnerable populations, categorizing lives as either “worth living” or not. This disturbing pattern echoes in current debates around the expansion of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Chris emphasized the need to remain alert, prayerful, and engaged, urging Canadians to learn from history and recognize the spiritual and ethical dangers of devaluing human life.
One of the most impactful moments of the summit, Chris shared, came when a rabbi said, “When the Church preaches the Gospel, it slows the rise of antisemitism.” This powerful insight underscores the Church’s vital role in today’s culture. Chris encouraged believers to boldly preach the good news of Jesus, demonstrate the love of God, and actively live out their faith—reminding us all that sharing the Gospel not only transforms lives but also stands as a spiritual resistance against hatred and division.

It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”

The National Day of Prayer in Ottawa on July 11 and 12 is not just another event. It is a clarion call to all the people of God across Canada to come together in humility, unity, and bold intercession. Now is the time to respond to God's call. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14). This is more than a gathering; it is a moment of repentance, covenant, and prophetic alignment for the nation. We are honoured to welcome our First Nations brothers and sisters, whose presence carries deep meaning in the story God is writing across this land. If you carry a burden for Canada’s future and a heart for God's eternal purposes, including His unfailing covenant with Israel, you need to be on Parliament Hill to pray with us.
For those on Vancouver Island—or even from the Lower Mainland—who aren’t able to attend the National Day of Prayer in Ottawa, ministries and churches in Victoria will be hosting a simultaneous gathering on July 12. You are warmly invited to join them as they unite in prayer for Canada at the B.C. Legislature in Victoria.

Weekly Prayer Points
Pray for a spiritual awakening across Canada and the nations to recognize and resist antisemitism in all its forms.
Pray for God to protect Jewish communities and raise up Christian voices to stand in love, truth, and solidarity with them.
Pray against the expansion of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) and the cultural drift toward devaluing life.
Pray for the Lord to convict the hearts of policymakers, medical professionals, and citizens, that Canada would choose life.
Pray for the Church to be courageous in speaking truth with compassion and clarity, defending those who cannot defend themselves.
Pray for unborn children—that their lives would be valued and protected in the womb.
Pray that the Church would be gripped with God’s heart for the lost—those far from Him, broken, deceived, or wandering.
Pray that our hearts would break for what breaks His, moving us to action, compassion, and bold witness.
Pray that this passion would lead to Gospel-driven discipleship, evangelism, and a readiness to say like Isaiah, “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
