Across the country, many are feeling the weight of rising costs, and the Christmas season may look simpler than in years past. Yet within that simplicity lies a deeper reminder: God values the heart far more than the size of any gift. Scripture points us to a generosity rooted not in abundance, but in love - the kind of giving God Himself modelled through the gift of His Son. Whether someone offers much or little this year, every act of kindness, every prayer, every moment spent caring for another reflects the sacrificial spirit at the center of Christmas. In the midst of financial strain, the season becomes clearer: presence over presents, love over luxury, and Christ’s peace over all circumstances. Emmanuel is God with us and this remains our greatest gift. Through His strength, even the smallest offering becomes precious.

Heartbreaking Attack at Hanukkah by the Sea in Australia
In light of the horrific attack in Sydney at Bondi Beach, which targeted the Jewish community during a Hanukkah by the Sea event, we encourage you to reach out to your Jewish friends and neighbouring synagogues to let them know you stand with them in solidarity. Below is the letter we sent to our friends, which you can use as a template and personalize as you see fit.
"We are gutted by the news of the horrific and senseless act of violence in Australia during a Hanukkah gathering by the sea. What should have been a moment of light, warmth, and family togetherness was shattered by hatred.
Our hearts break knowing that families were targeted - parents, children, the elderly. Jew hatred is an evil from the pit of hell. We have to call it out when we see it which has been too frequent as of late. The cruelty of such violence is overwhelming, and the pain it has caused reaches far beyond borders. To our Jewish friends, we grieve with you, we ache with you, and we mourn the lives forever changed. May the memories of those harmed be held with blessing, and may the light of Hanukkah shine even in this dark moment. As Christians, we stand in solidarity with the Jewish people against this globalized intifada. Am Yisrael Chai!"

Pray thanksgiving for Jesus, God’s greatest gift given out of perfect love.
Pray for God’s peace to guard hearts and minds in the midst of financial pressure.
Pray for contentment and joy rooted in Christ rather than circumstances.
Pray for the grace to give cheerfully and willingly, however small the offering may seem.
Pray for God’s provision and encouragement for families who are struggling.
Pray for creativity in showing love through simple, meaningful acts of generosity.
Pray that God comforts those who feel discouraged or overwhelmed this season.
Pray for a renewed focus on Jesus, the true meaning and hope of Christmas.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
