Saturday, August 2, 2025

As many Canadians enjoy a slower rhythm this first weekend of August, we're taking a moment to revisit a meaningful message from last summer. In this short video, Chris shares about the life-changing habit of reading the Bible daily—not just as a discipline, but as a doorway to intimacy with God. The Word equips us to pray with power and clarity, aligning our hearts with His. If you're traveling or resting this weekend, let this be a simple encouragement to stay rooted in Scripture and responsive to His leading in both prayer and action.

Thanks to our donors for making a difference!

New Ballot Format in Battle River-Crowfoot. Here’s What to Expect

For our friends in the riding of Battle River-Crowfoot: Elections Canada is introducing an adapted ballot for this election due to the unusually large number of candidates (209). If you’re voting at an advance poll or on election day, your ballot will look quite different; it won’t have the usual list of names with circles to mark. Instead, there will be a blank space where you’ll need to write the name of your preferred candidate. You can include their party name alongside their name, but writing only the party name like “Liberal” or “Conservative”won’t count. The good news is, your vote will still be valid even if the spelling isn’t perfect, as long as it’s clear who you meant. You may want to practice the candidate’s name before you vote, just to be safe.

Weekly Prayer Points

  • Pray that believers across Canada would develop a fresh hunger for daily time in God’s Word, allowing Scripture to shape their hearts, prayers, and priorities.

  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to help us not only pray the Word but also act on what He speaks, living out our faith with courage and obedience, just as Jesus did.

  • Pray that as many pause this weekend, it would be more than just physical rest but that hearts would be restored in God's presence, drawing closer to Him through reflection and His Word.

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”

Colossians 1:9–10
