Prayer Stream — Nov 16, 2024

Saturday, November 16, 2024

Do you know what day it is? It’s the day of salvation! A reminder that that His call to repentance is urgent. We should be praying everyday for salvation to overtake our communities. Regarding praying for our government leaders, it should not be limited to times of crisis or election seasons. We are called to pray daily, asking for wisdom and revelation to guide those on Parliament Hill. We pray for their decisions to be shaped by integrity and righteousness, and most importantly, we pray for their salvation. We don’t need a designated National Day of Prayer to prompt us—every day is the day of salvation, which means every day is the National Day of Prayer!

"For he says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”

Bomb Threat Thwarted at Pro Israel Rally on Parliament Hill

This week, global news revealed that the RCMP uncovered a plot by two young men(minors), indoctrinated by ISIS, who were planning to set off bombs at a pro-Israel rally on Parliament Hill. Marilyn and I have attended all the pro-Israel events on the Hill since October 7, 2023. News of the alleged target only surfaced following an “application by federal lawyers to withhold sensitive national security information from the youths’ trials.” This revelation underscores the serious nature of the plot, and it raises concerns about transparency in matters of national security.

Marilyn and I are deeply thankful that God uncovered this dangerous scheme, but it's troubling to see such critical information suppressed. As we continue to pray for the Jewish community in Canada, we are reminded of the importance of staying vigilant and informed, especially in these times.

  • Pray for the continued safety and protection of the Jewish community in Canada and around the world. Pray for their physical safety, but also for their emotional and spiritual well-being as they navigate the challenges of increasing hostility.

  • Pray that God would guide you to Jewish friends to whom you can extend genuine care and friendship. Pray for the wisdom to be a source of comfort and encouragement, and for the courage to build meaningful connections that reflect God’s grace and kindness.

  • Pray for wisdom and discernment for leaders, law enforcement, and organizations tasked with their protection, that they may act swiftly and effectively to prevent harm. Pray that they would remain vigilant and effective in dismantling all plots of terrorism in Canada.

  • Pray that God would guide the formation of strategic alliances between the Church and the Jewish community in Canada, with a shared vision to combat and dismantle antisemitism. Pray that God would give us solutions to defeat this growing problem in our nation.

"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."

Zephaniah 3:17

Canada/US Border

As President Trump campaigned for office in the United States, one of his key promises was to protect the country from illegal immigration. A major concern that arose from this promise was the potential for an influx of illegal immigration from the U.S. to Canada, as individuals seeking to avoid stricter U.S. immigration policies might attempt to cross the border into Canada. This raised questions about how Canada would respond to this possible challenge and the strain it could place on the country's immigration system and resources.

  • Pray that the Canadian government would be strategic and proactive in making preparations to address potential illegal immigration. Pray that the Canadian government would have the necessary personnel and resources in place to effectively protect the nation's sovereignty.

  • Pray for Minister of Immigration Mark Miller, that he would work effectively with his American counterpart to safeguard both nations from the influx of criminals, guns, drugs, and human trafficking. Pray for unity between the two nations as they collaborate to combat these threats.

  • Pray that the Church in Canada would have a heart and mindset focused on evangelizing all people, including those who migrate to this nation. Pray that the Church would be a welcoming and effective witness, sharing the hope of the gospel with everyone, and building bridges of understanding and friendship. Pray for the Church to be a light in the darkness, drawing people from all nations to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

"Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest."
