An activist is someone who campaigns to effect political and social change. At the National House of Prayer, some might label our efforts as activism. While we do not engage in political campaigning, we fervently campaign in prayer, seeking God for change. Political activists advocate for their beliefs, but in our prayers, we seek not to impose our opinions but to align with God's will by praying His Word. For our political leaders and our nation, we pray for transformative heart change, trusting that His Word acts like fire and a hammer, shattering hardened hearts and replacing them with hearts of flesh (Jeremiah 23:29) . As Chris encourages us in the video, "Be an activist; Pray the Word!"

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12

Apostolic Prayer

"And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

Acts 4:20-30

Prayer Points

Pray for Jasper and Other Wildfire-Affected Communities

In a tearful press conference, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said the images from Jasper are "horrific," with "potentially 30 to 50 percent" of buildings burned by the out-of-control fire. Over 1,900 first responders are fighting the 175 wildfires in Alberta, with over 50 out of control. Reinforcements from Mexico, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand are arriving in the next few days to help. Our hearts break for the residents fleeing their homes.

  • Pray for the residents and visitors of Jasper during this difficult time.

  • Pray for first responders rushing to help.

  • Pray for disaster relief groups like Samaritan's Purse as they assist residents forced to flee from multiple fires in the area.

  • Pray for the communities taking in evacuees. Pray for strength for these communities as they handle the rush of people and provide both accommodation and emotional support.

  • Pray for heavy rain.

  • Pray for hope.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Romans 15:13
