Prayer Stream — Jul 06, 2024

Saturday, July 6, 2024

The video highlights our trip down East to the Greater Halifax area where we launched a Canopy of Prayer team. We also met with many new friends who are eager to pray with us. It is exciting to have another team or two praying for their community. We want to build 338 teams, which represent the 338 federal ridings in Canada, to pray for each community, all of its leaders and to pray for Israel.

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

1 Timothy 2:1-4.

Apostolic Prayer

"And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."

2 Philippians 1:9-11

Prayer Points

A survey by the Pew Research Center found that fewer than half of U.S. adults pray daily. Additionally, only 2% of respondents in a Crossway report are very satisfied with their prayer lives. I'm sure we would find similar stats in Canada. Lack of Prayer in the church is a harmful and destructive force.

  • Pray for the church that we would put God at the centre of our lives. When He is at the centre; when we have our full dependence on Him rather than on our own abilities, this fosters a heart of prayer.

  • Prayer begins with a thankful heart. Pray that our eyes would be open to see the goodness of God in our lives. Thankfulness opens a door to seeing by faith and not by sight.

  • Pray that the church would stay focused on the cross giving us surety that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He is our High Priest.

"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

Hebrews 4:14-16
