Prayer Stream — Jan 04, 2025

Saturday, January 4, 2025

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Israel Conference - "For Zion's Sake" on May 6 and 7! This event will take place immediately following the National Prayer Breakfast on May 5 and 6.

The National Prayer Breakfast brings together leaders in the spirit of Jesus Christ to pray and build relationships. Organized by the Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast Group and chaired by MP Richard Bragdon, it aims to foster prayer, fellowship and community.

Our goal with the Israel conference is to continue networking with like-minded individuals to explore how we can actively show support for the Jewish community, especially in light of the growing hatred and antisemitic hostility. We aim to encourage corporate prayer within the church for our Jewish friends. Join us as we build stronger relationships and work toward a common vision of unity and support for Jewish communities in Canada. Watch for more details to follow.

We would also like to highlight the Young Leaders Summit, held in conjunction with the National Prayer Breakfast, starting on May 4. This summit offers a unique opportunity to learn how to stand for truth and justice in politics, all while cultivating an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

Government of Canada Extends Charitable Donation Deadline to February 28, 2025.

Thank you for your generous support. Every contribution, big or small, plays a vital role in helping us make a lasting impact as we work to disciple a nation in prayer. With the Canadian government extending the deadline for charitable donations eligible for 2024 tax receipts, we invite those who missed the December 31 deadline to consider making a one-time donation or topping up their previous contributions. Your support is invaluable!

Apostolic Prayer

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Romans 15:13

Prayer Points

"Is our Hope in an Election?"

"Now that we’ve entered 2025, the big question for most political pundits in Canada is: “Will there be an election sooner or later?”

The Conservatives have a plan to have the Standing Committee on Public Accounts consider a non-confidence motion in early January, which they aim to bring before the House of Commons as soon as January 30. For the motion to succeed, the committee would need the support of the NDP. While Jagmeet Singh has pledged to bring down the government, it’s still uncertain whether he will back this particular motion. The NDP may choose to weigh the timing and strategic benefits of the move but could instead wait for their own opposition day to introduce a non-confidence motion, which wouldn’t occur until March."...

  • Pray for peace for our nation. Pray for a spirit of calm amidst division and unrest.

  • Pray for stability within our government, that those in positions of authority would govern with wisdom, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve their constituents.

  • Pray that the hearts of our leaders would turn away from selfish ambition and political survival. Pray that they would make decisions that promote the well-being of all Canadians.

  • Pray for Shalom, the destruction of everything bound to chaos to prevail over every plan rooted in disorder. Pray that our leaders would have clarity of mind to address the challenges we face as a nation.

  • Pray for the church to be peacemakers, to model grace in our words and actions. Pray that our words would be wise and gentle and that they would carry life.

"Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."

James 3:18
