The National Prayer Breakfast is fast approaching. This week’s video highlights several events that are taking place in the Ottawa region surrounding the Breakfast. Take note of what is going on, join us in person if you can, or be in prayer at home. The need for prayer has never been greater! We have been so encouraged by the increased emphasis on prayer across Canada. Please consider partnering with us financially as we build a Canopy of Prayer.
Partner with us.
The National House of Prayer is not sponsored by any particular denomination or agency. We rely on the generosity of people like you to enable us to activate strategic prayer for Canada and its leaders. Foreign Interference Inquiry
Foreign interference is when another country tries to influence Canada's elections. The current inquiry is looking into whether China, Russia, India, and other countries interfered in the last two elections, and how the government handled information about it. Commissioner Marie-Josée Hogue is leading the investigation called as there were reports that China meddled in the 2019 and 2021 elections.
Pray that interference and intimidation by foreign parties would not be trivialized by the government. Canadians need to be confident that elections are secure and fair.
Pray for our Members of Parliament that they would be able to work together on the file to bring about those structures needed to protect our democracy. Pray that they would be able to distinguish between political narratives and righteousness.
Pray for the affected diaspora groups that plans would be put into place to give them assurance of trust that the government will be able to deliver real protection.
“Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers.”
Proverbs 11:14
Israel - Iran threatens war
The IDF has bolstered its air defence and called up reservists in anticipation of an Iranian retaliation for the air strike in Damascus that killed a top Islamic Revolutionary Guard commander and 6 other Iranian officials.
Speculation has grown that Iran has the capability to launch an attack on Israel directly from its own territory, rather than relying on proxy forces. Both Iran and its proxy Hezbollah have stated their determination that Israel will face consequences for Monday's attack.
An Iranian attack on Israel would have far-reaching consequences, posing risks to regional stability, global security, and the world economy. If Iran were to attack Israel, it could lead to various issues, including disruptions in oil supply, worsening humanitarian crises, potential use of nuclear weapons, heightened cyberattacks, and increased global terrorism. Diplomatic efforts to calm things down and prevent conflict are crucial to minimizing these dangers.
Pray for protection of Israeli Embassies, Synagogues and Jewish Community Centres across the globe as terrorists threats from Iran and its proxies are looming.
Pray for wisdom for leaders and strategists, that they would receive divine guidance and intelligence from God.
Pray for the children caught up in this conflict who are suffering from its trauma. Pray that necessary aid would reach them. Pray that they would encounter the Prince of Peace.
"May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor. May he endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations. May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more."
Psalm 72:4-7
"Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen."
Psalm 72:18-19
