Help Wanted - Watchmen, Full-time position

“I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.”

Isaiah 62:6-7

We are called to be watchmen for Israel. God says we should keep praying day and night and give Him no rest. We are to do this until His Name is praised in Jerusalem. Clearly this has not yet happened, so we need to continue to pray. Being a watchman is not a part-time job. Oftentimes we take on assignments until the crisis is averted and leave our positions on the wall. It is important to remain in this place of prayer even when all is quiet, and things seem uneventful. The role of a watchman is to sound the alarm when they see the enemy approaching. It’s almost too late if the alarm sounds when the enemy is already at the door. This is why it is vital that we always stay in our position of prayer.

The war in Israel has given us an urgency to pray for Israel.

The Hamas terrorist attacks on innocent civilians including women and children, even babies has been the most diabolical actions perpetuated against the people of Israel since the holocaust. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the safety of the Israel nation and Jewish diaspora around the globe.

Let us stay in this place of prayer, interceding for as long as it may take. This war may last a week; it may last for months or even years. Let us be faithful and consistent in prayer. Even when the war comes to an end, we must keep our place on this wall of prayer.

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”

James 5:16
