Canopy of Prayer has been brewing at NHOP for quite some time now. More than just an Ottawa centered ministry, the vision has always been to see the heart of the Nation turn to God. Having boots on the ground at Parliament Hill is very necessary and essential.
Building relationships with Members of Parliament and bringing in teams to pray for and to serve these members remains an integral part of the National House of Prayer. In this present season, it is time to enlarge the borders of our tent.

When Marilyn and I became involved with our Member of Parliament, it gave us the opportunity to be engaged and informed with the member and the constituency. We were then able to pray informed, strategic prayers in our private prayer times. Our hope is to see this kind of responsive prayer involvement right across the nation with synergetic prayer teams.
"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;"
Colossians 1:9-11
Ultimately, the goal for every team is to see The Kingdom of God increase in their constituencies. Our utmost desire is to see Salvation break out and the purposes of God accomplished in each respective community.

Prayer teams will be focused on the constituencies where they live aiming their attention on their communities. Rather than having prayers solely centred on the federal government and their members of parliament, teams will pray for all levels of government, education, community and business leaders, church and ministry leaders and other concerns in their locality.

To help with equipping the prayer teams being developed across the nation, we felt it necessary to establish a prayer school and create curriculum. Knowing what the Word says about God's Will for us individually and corporately is an important tool that Holy Spirit can use to bring us to an understanding of how we can apply this tool to our lives. It gives us vision and order. Our priorities become His priorities and we are then able to sustain a life of prayer for our communities as He gives us endurance and patience with joy.
