As we approach what may be the most pivotal election of our lives, I want to talk about fear—something that seems to rise and fall in Canada with the daily headlines. But rather than focus on the news, let’s look at what Jesus says about fear in Matthew 14. It’s the familiar story of Peter walking on water. In the midst of a violent storm, when even seasoned fishermen were terrified, Jesus appeared and said, “Don’t be afraid. Take courage. I am here.” That same word is for us today: Do not be afraid—I AM. Peter, full of boldness, stepped out toward Jesus, but as he looked at the waves, fear overtook him. Still, when he cried out, “Lord, save me,” Jesus immediately reached out and caught him. This isn’t a call to deny the storm—we’re in one, nationally and personally—but to fix our eyes on the One who walks on the storm and calms it. Let us engage with this coming election not in fear, but in faith, studying party platforms and making decisions in the presence of Jesus. Remember, the storm ended when Jesus and Peter got back in the boat. He is with us—calming the storm, guiding us through it, and never letting go.

Daily Election Prayer Points
Pray that believers across Canada will keep their eyes on Jesus, not the storm.
Pray for for grace to walk by faith, even when circumstances feel overwhelming.
Pray for hearts to be steadied in His presence, not shaken by media or fear.
Contend for the words of Jesus over Canada: “Do not be afraid. Take courage. I AM.”
Pray for the Lord to grant His people clarity and discernment to rightly understand the platforms of each political party.
Pray for believers to study these platforms in the presence of Jesus and be guided by His Spirit in how they vote.
Pray for pastors, prayer leaders, and watchmen to speak truth boldly and call the Church to action, prayer, and biblical engagement.
Pray for Jesus to step fully into the heart of this nation—that His peace would still every wind and wave, and His presence would dwell among us.
