This past week on our Tuesday [music] morning prayer call, our Zoom call, 10:00 Eastern, great call, consider joining us. It's a wonderful prayer time. Um we were really pressing in on Psalm 34. And uh Psalm 34 is a fantastic Psalm and it's it's all about posture. It's all about uh let me just read it to you first off and uh and we'll talk about um all the swirly stuff that's happening this week. You know, of course we saw this we're in a trade war and uh anything can happen even by the time this video goes out um you know, on Saturday, many things can happen with it within two or three days. Uh we are living in a tumultuous time and we can move out of peace and I really
believe the Lord wants to keep us in peace. I and scripture tells us that I will keep them in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me and trusts in me. And that's where we're supposed to be. But let me read you this Psalm 34 and uh and go back to uh let's talk about it a little bit here. I will extol the Lord at all times. His praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the Lord. Let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me. Let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord and he answered me and he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look on him are radiant. Their face are never covered with shame. This poor man called and the Lord heard
him. He saved him from all his enemies. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord all you saints for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Come my children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it. I don't want to talk to you about peace. I want to talk to you about shalom
because in this time of economic uncertainty, in this time of political uncertainty, it is important that we stay in peace. And when we look at the word peace, when we look at the word shalom, often times we think of absence of conflict. That's what we think. It should be peaceful, there should be no fighting, there should be calm. But shalom actually means to restore. Right? To tikkun, to restore. That we will be uh spiritually peaceful, mentally, physically. It talks about the completeness and the fullness of God. And one of the definitions which I really, really like is that it uh destroys the authority that binds itself to chaos. Isn't that fantastic? It destroys
the authority that binds itself to chaos and and doesn't it feel like we are in a chaotic time? I mean, just between the two leaders that I that I'm talking about, it just seems like snippety, snappety. And um so, it's important that we pray from a place of shalom. And that while we call on the peace be still, like Jesus did when he was going across the Sea of Galilee in that storm, where there's a storm. And so, it's essential for us to call on the peace be still. And let's speak into this season shalom. Shalom that destroys the authority that binds itself to chaos. And that's how our posture is. So, Lord, we pray for our nation now. Lord, we pray for the relationship
between Canada and the United States. And Father, we pray for the two leaders, Mr. Carney, Mr. Trump. Lord, that there would be wisdom and understanding from you. Lord, we call on you that you would give them eyes to see and ears to hear what you are saying. Father, we know that these two nations have a call on their lives, on their existence for the last days. And we've heard this over and over again that Canada has a call in the last days to be leaves of healing for the nations. So, Father, we pray for our leaders that they would be wise and discerning. Father, that they would lay down agendas, but Lord, that they would have your heart in the matter for the people
of the United States and the people of Canada. Lord, we bind the authority that binds itself to chaos in the name of Jesus. Amen. I'm Chris Byberg, the director of the National House of Prayer. I will see you next time. Bye for now.
