Well, good morning. This is Paul Primus calling from Victoria, British Columbia. I just wanted to encourage you all today uh from Mark chapter 15 as we're in the middle of another election cycle. It's time for that um again. And I wanted to look at how we see Jesus really carrying himself, not so much in how he dealt with politics, but in how he carried himself. And I believe that this bears weight on how we carry ourselves when things go our way, when things don't go our way. So in Mark 15 says, "As soon as it was morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council and they bound Jesus and led him away and delivered him

over to Pilate. And Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" And he answered him, "You have said so." And the chief priests accused him of many things. And Pilate again asked him, "Have you no answer to make? see how many charges they bring against you. But Jesus made no further answer so that Pilate was amazed. Now, when you look at this account in a few of the other gospels, the end result is the same. Jesus was silent in what was going on and Pilate the governor was amazed. And I want to challenge you. I know we have the election coming up. There's a lot of spin. There's a lot of uh words cycling around opinions. My friend Brad commented just the other day on how how

do you know which is true? How do you know which is fact? How much is opinion? Well, Jesus chose a different strategy than trying to figure out who to align with. And he he he said himself a few times, my kingdom is the kingdom of of my father and the father in heaven. My kingdom is not of this world. So, we find ourselves in the middle of of a world that's broken, looking for answers. Where do we how do we align ourselves? What do we do? How do we how do we keep praying and not end up being partisan, unduly partisan perhaps? Um making opinions and statements that end up doing more harm than good. I believe this shows some of the answer. Uh Jesus' response even when he was accused of

things that he didn't do, his his response was silent. He didn't say anything. And this actually brought amazement to the people that were that were having to deal with him. In the political world, everyone is so used to rhetoric, so used to um fighting and trying to one up each other. What if we became the people that instead of tried to pick a side, we chose heaven's side and we just modeled modeled what we do in these things after Jesus? I want to encourage you to vote. I want to encourage you to reach out to your people that you're involved with, people that are in your your MPs, people that are trying to be your MPs. Pray for them, love them, and make sure that

you're representing the King of Kings well. So, Father, I pray today over our nation that we as your people would represent your kingdom well and true. That we would use Jesus as our model for how we carry ourselves, for what we do, how we speak. we would learn when to say something and when not to say something in Jesus name.
