hi everybody it's chris byberg the director of the national house of prayer well the house of commons came back a bit early uh this week they were scheduled to come next monday or this coming monday i filmed this a little earlier but they are sitting today thursday um in in commemoration of her majesty queen elizabeth ii's passing so um i wanted to give us a little bit of focus for this upcoming session of parliament um and you know what in my daily devotions actually i was speaking with a former mp and we were talking about um about certain scripture verses and as she pointed out to me and brought illumination to me from psalm 15 and i think this is a really fantastic

psalm to be praying through for our leaders all of our leaders the prime minister the new leader of the opposition pierre paliav all of our members of parliament your member of parliament i just want to encourage you with this because this is a really great posture and a great as we pray the word because that's what we really like to to do here in national house of prayer pray the word let me read this to you because it's it's really quite excellent psalm lord who may dwell in your sanctuary who may live on your holy hill those whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue who does his neighbor no wrong

or casts no slur on his fellow man who despised to despise as a vile man but honors those who fear the lord and this is what i really love and this is like a major focus for our members who keeps his oath even when it hurts too often we see um leaders and and politicians especially come in and they make promises and then when they uh achieve the goal of being elected they kind of throw those or cast those promises away and this is a great word to pray over them that they would keep their oaths even when it hurts so let's pray that today over each of our members father we thank you for this new season that's coming this new season of parliament this fall

session lord we pray for every member of parliament lord that they would be people of righteousness lord that they would speak the truth with their whole hearts lord that they would know the truth and lord we pray that the truth would set them free lord that they would do their neighbors no wrong lord our cast slurs on their fellow man but lord this is what we pray lord we pray that they that make oaths are promises that they will keep their promises even when it hurts so father we ask that you would bless this coming session in jesus name amen i'm chris byberg the director of the national house of prayer we'll see you next time bye for now
