hi everybody it's chris in maryland directors of the national house of prayer in ottawa today is truth and reconciliation day and it's really interesting as in our devotional this morning we are reading from the one year bible and we came in our devotional today was isaiah 61. it's our favorite passage and today we felt like we would read into this and pray into this over the nation so marilyn would you would you like to read this for us i'm only going to read the first four verses of isaiah 61 the spirit of the lord god is upon me because the lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the

captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound to proclaim the year of the lord's favors and the day of vengeance of our god to comfort all who mourn to grant those who mourn in zion to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes they all have gladness instead of mourning the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit that they may be called oaks of righteousness the planting of the lord and he may be glorified they shall bind up the ancient ruins they shall raise up the former devastations they shall repair the ruined cities the devastations of many generations amen so let's pray into this father today on this day of truth and reconciliation we lift up the first peoples

to you father you your word says that you have sent us the body of christ to preach good to bring good news to the poor to bind up broken broken-hearted lord to bestow on those a beautiful headrest instead of ashes and the oil of joy for mourning so father we lift up our p our first peoples today and we asked that you would pour out your healing oil on them as we remember the things that have happened in the past load those things that were did not hit the mark correctly lord where we where there was wickedness lord we ask that you would forgive us but lord we're praying for reconciliation and healing across our land in jesus name yes lord for those who today would be reflecting those in our

first peoples who would be reflecting on on the past sufferings or the past sufferings of their families lord holy spirit i just pray that you would be comforted to them and lord i pray that this reconciliation would begin with a reconciliation to you lord yes in jesus name yes lord you've called us to be ministers of reconciliation so father we put on that robe of minister of reconciliation across the nation in jesus name thank you amen thank you everyone thank you for joining us thank you we'll see you next time bye for now bye-bye you
