hi everybody it's Chris Byberg the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa so I want to talk to you today about an interesting things that we're starting to see a trend maybe that we're starting to see in the House of Commons this past last Monday the conservatives put forward a motion to remove the carbon tax on home heating bills um and an interesting thing happened the member from Avalon his name is Ken McDonald Avalon is in Newfoundland the writing of Avalon he voted with against the government and he voted with the conservatives and he did this because he wanted to stand up for the rights of his his constituents you know that is really really wonderful
I know that politics oftentimes is a is a team sport but when we see members stand up on behalf of their constituents that is a good thing that is a good thing so we want to con we want to pray for Ken um because of his boldness um you know we were reading in some articles the pmo the prime minister's office reached out to him the caucus whipped reached out to him in many of ministers reached out to him and he stood firm because he stood firm on what was right for his his constituents we're starting to see a little bit of of uh cracks kind of see um cracks in the foundation um like I mentioned last week with the bill C230 with Kelly block I had mentioned last week there were what
seven six or seven members and some of them cabinet managers that didn't vote with the government they voted with uh rather they abstained but never the last that's like a vote against which is really really interesting so we see some things happening we want to pray for good government and we've been doing that and you've been doing that and that's awesome you know like we I say this often about Timothy second Timothy 2 that we are called to pray for leaders and all those in Authority that we would live Godly and peaceful lives and that they would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth so this is really really important keep your prayers up the reason why I'm saying
this is because there's a um there's an initiative that's going to become rolling out with other Ministries in the nation we are working in conjunction with Ivana Evangelical Fellowship of Canada on the maid issue because for those of you don't know there is the made May transfer to the next level which is even worse than it was and what they want to do is offer made to those who have who have mental illness and for those that are considered mature miners I this is beyond a slippery slope it is more like the luge right now this legislation from the beginning and we foretold that it would get worse and it did so pray with us we are strategizing together with Ministries in the nation
on how to bring this to the government's attention and bring this to our members and bring us to ministers so that they can hear us you have a voice and you can reach out so I want to encourage you reach out to your members book an appointment go with a group meet with that member and discuss your concerns for those who are vulnerable and this is what's really important the vulnerability of this is it's it's it's it's horrific it's horrifying and it's insane I heard one mem one member call it insanity and I think that is a really good descriptive word of this bill so I want to encourage you there are cracks that we're seeing in the foundation so keep going keep praying but also be
proactive be nice when you're reaching out go in a group if there's a group of you from your church our pastors I want to encourage you go with a group of pastors meet with your MPS have discussions tell them what you're feeling because many times they don't know what you're feeling you know they don't know what they don't know and if you're silent they don't know so let's pray father we pray we thank you God for what you're doing in our nation Lord we thank you for the assignment of praying for our leaders and those in authority and Lord we pray for them today that they would move in wisdom that they would move in righteousness and they would move on behalf of those that are
disadvantaged those that are emotionally broken those that are at their wits end so father we ask for wisdom for these members and wisdom for us Lord that we would communicate clearly and concisely the kingdom of God in Jesus name amen my name is Chris Byberg the director of the national House of Prayer we will see you next time bye for now
