hi everybody it's chris veybridge the director of the national house of prayer in ottawa well today is november the 22nd and it's the first day that the mps are back after the election this is the 44th parliament today is going to be predominantly a procedural day there are two big things that are actually happening today they will be voting on a new speaker anthony rhoda is in that roster there are six other candidates five other candidates rather anthony did a really good job last time it'll be interesting to see if he gets back in because he did take a hard stand against his government so it'll be interesting to see what happens there i thought it was pretty righteous myself
um the second thing is the vaccine mandates and the uh that's in play for our mps now so we're going to see if they accept the health um the health exemptions that the conservatives are presenting it's interesting to see the uh this has become a politicized um event almost it's been all over the media this morning if you're traveling with uh cbc and ctv they've been talking about this all morning and uh whether the their health exemptions are valid that's uh kind of interesting there so be be in prayer for that because this that shouldn't be a politicized um topic your personal health is up to you and your doctor and so it's interesting how they want to pull this out into the public sphere
interesting so be and pray for that because this should not be politicized um the next thing that uh so tomorrow in the speaker rather the governor general is going to be uh giving a thrown speech we are anticipating a few things this is what we heard through the media that we're going to be hearing a few things that are going to come up c6 the conversion therapy ban is being reintroduced it's not that the previous uh conservatives in the last government voted i voted for conversion therapy the media tell you that they voted for conversion therapy they didn't they voted they voted against the bill because of its broad definitions the broad definitions could have criminalized
conversations between their therapists and patients parents and their children and pastors and their congregants so that was the big concern so the media spins this that they were against uh not supporting the ban on conversion therapy that's not the case here it's because the definition was very very broad even to the point where some i heard this in a debate one of the block members said it's okay if the bill is written poorly they'll just let the judges interpret it when it when somebody is charged and they go to court we don't want bills to be written that way that is foolishness we want well written bills so that judges can interpret correctly that's what's at stake
um another thing that we where we saw and that we're hearing about this comes in from garnet genous he's a member from alberta he sent out an email last week and it was about page four of the liberal platform where they had spoken about taking away charitable status for crisis pregnancy centers so anybody who's pro-life they are looking at challenging so garnet says that this was an example it was an example to use crisis pregnancy centers that they were going to take away their charitable status he believes that this could be interpreted much more broadly that it could include places of worship churches christian schools or any pro-life school that any any a religious school that had
a pro-life stand they could be at risk of losing their charity status christian hospitals and those who work with homeless are a few of the other examples so be in prayer for this because we want to get out ahead that's the purpose of imhop being here we're not just here to pray during the election cycle we're here to pray throughout that's why we want to pray for our leaders that we will have godliness in our land that we that things will be peaceful for us as it says in uh first timothy two so and the the the last one um that could be on the docket in this particular government is bill c-10 the internet free speech bill this is again two different there's two different
takes here the media and the government says this is about large internet companies not getting taxed or having too much say and uh but those on the side of free speech are saying no this could infringe on our rights on my right here as uh as the director of national house of prayer could i be curtailed here in what i say and will it be monitored and i will i be allowed to say the things that i'm that i say or will it be taken down so these are the things that that are before us right now just three examples of what we could see tomorrow in the throne speech so let's be and pray for this prayer for the uh today for um the politicizedness of the vaccine mandate to pray for that and
then start praying into these other things reach out to your members even now reach out on the phone reach out by a letter you can try emails that's not my my favorite way of of reaching out to them because you have to realize that they receive hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of emails a day and that the mp doesn't actually see it it's a staffer that is is just going through these things really quickly so let's anyway let's pray father we thank you for your goodness your mercy lord we thank you that you love canada lord we thank you for your plans and your purposes for this nation lord we thank you that even on our peace tower it is written that you will have dominion from sea to sea
from the rivers to the ends of the earth so father for this 44th parliament we asked god that you would have the spirit of revelation and knowledge rest on that place lord that wisdom would rest in that place lord that the spirit of the fear of the lord would rest on that place lord that they would move in goodness in righteousness and justice lord in jesus name we pray amen thank you everyone my name is chris byberg the director of the national house of prayer we'll see you next time bye for now
