Fires, Faith, and Miracles

Last Monday, late in the afternoon, we received a call from one of our Canopy of Prayer leaders in Fort St. John, BC. She said that they were surrounded by fire. The entire area was under evacuation alert.

It became apparent that a call for prayer was very appropriate and necessary. On Monday evening we sent out an urgent appeal to pray concerning the fires in Fort St. John as well as Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Your response was overwhelming. It is remarkable the number of intercessors ready and willing to pray for our nation. Thank you for your prayers.

One testimony that came from Fort St. John was regarding a couple who thought their house was going to be lost as it was in the fiery path. They ran into a nearby field to cry out to God. Their house is still standing today. The firemen told them that they witnessed something they had never seen before. It was as though the fire was pushing up against the wind and would not allow the wind to dictate its path.

If we call out to God, He is able to save. He is able to save in our families, in our workplaces, in our communities. Keep praying! Don’t wait for disaster or trouble to come before you pray. Invite Him into your everyday life and watch what He does.

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

James 5:16

  • Continue to pray regarding the fires. According to Natural Resources Canada, there are still evacuation orders and alerts in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Northwest Territories.

  • Pray for those who have been evacuated that they would have eyes to see the God of peace who wants to give them rest.

  • Pray for those who have suffered loss that He would restore their hope.

  • Pray for the firefighters that they would receive Heavenly Strategy.
