hi everybody chris byberg here director of the national house of prayer in audubon prayer works we've seen this many many times here at the national house of prayer and i want to talk to you about bill c-6 the conversion therapy bill when this bill was introduced by the liberals in the house it was to ban conversion therapy i don't have a problem with banning it most members in the house didn't have a problem with it i know the conservatives didn't have a problem with banning conversion therapy the problem was with its definition they were afraid and we were afraid that the definition was so broad that it would criminalize conversations conversations between parents and their children
between counselors and counselees and pastors and congregations things had changed during this prayer time we prayed from november to the end of summer and when this bill was last voted on in the house 63 members voted against it 62 from the conservatives and derek sloane we prayed that this bill would die and it did die it died in the senate when the election was called should the election liberals be be elected this next time they have said that they will reintroduce this bill that tells me it's going to be the same bill because it's a reintroduced back into the house this is what is so amazing we went from to 63 and now it is a part it is part of the conservative platform that they will
introduce a bill but with a far better definition let me read what they say we will clarify that the ban does not criminalize non-coercive conversation giving comfort to parents and others who fear that legitimate conversations might be criminalized this is huge we went from three to a party platform does this make me happy yes do i know what the ppc is saying on this they don't have anything in their platform i would suggest that you ask them ask a candidate where they stand on c6 see where you get it the point of this whole thing is that you learn to do your homework though the devil is not in the details the devil is in the lack of details but there are lots of details so we're going
to post all the platforms so you can look at them and you decide look at what is good look at what is right look at the things that are not so good look at the things that are actually wicked i want you to educate yourself so we're going to give you these tools so that you can be informed we are called jesus said be wise as serpents and gentle as democracy thank you everyone good to see you again we'll see you next time bye now
