hi everybody it's Chris beiberg the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa as usual anyway um it's been a great week if you've been tracking along with the uh the emergencies act inquiry that has been very very insightful and full of Illumination so keep pressing in on that some great things coming to the surface just mind-blowing some of the things so track with that on CPAC if you haven't been already really a great opportunity to pray and it's been wonderful to see even with eight days going through this that they've they've brought a lot to our attention and it's so keep pressing in prayer for that we want to to make sure that we get ahead of some things

many times we're surprised by things but other times we can get ahead of things there's a couple bills I want to bring attention to you really good ones the first one is from my old riding of Oshawa Ontario the member there his name is Colin Kerry Marilyn and I sat on his board of directors we were a part of the Eda there for many many years and this is where we learned how to pray for our Member of Parliament and he's bringing he brought forth a bill entitled s224 it's a human trafficking Bill and and he wants to make an amendment to the criminal code Now read what criminal code and I'll read what the amendment is to in uh to remove the unfair burden placed on exploited individuals who

under the current Canadian law must prove that there was an element of fear in their abuse in order to obtain a conviction now that sounds like common sense but many times our bills are they've left out a lot of common sense so I'm just grateful for this member Colin for bringing this uh forward because can you imagine having to if you if you forgot to leave out that you were afraid that there wouldn't be a convention a conviction against these Scoundrels anyway the next bill is from Mel Arnold this was brought to us from our friend Rachel and Rachel and I go back for many many years from Niagara Falls but she's out in Vernon now and uh and so Rachel brought this to our

attention and it's a petition and it's for a bill entitled c291 and in this bill it is to replace the term child pornography with child sexual abuse material because child pornography kind of lessens it when they bring it out to the life into the light of what it actually is that it is child sexual abuse material makes it very very clear that this is not a hobby or this isn't a fetish but this is styled child sexual abuse material be in prayer for that you know when we see bills come through and sometimes we get the vote on bills like for example a couple weeks ago we were praying for Kelly blocks Bill C230 that was the conscience Rights bill um in regards uh uh to to protecting the

rights of health care workers uh especially in regards to made and not having to perform made you know you would think this would be a pretty much a slam dunk that's common sense of yes we want to protect those rights but there were many that that in the government that said no no no no no that doesn't make sense this bill was voted down however it is like a barometer for us to see what's going on in the hearts of the nation if these kind of bills shows us how we should be praying in our Nations what we assume is common sense is not necessary common sense for everybody what we assume is righteousness is not so we get to see what's going on in the heart and sometimes I think the Lord

that we have this opportunity because he shows us what's in our heart and shows us what's in the hearts of the nation and this gives us an opportunity on how to pray for this so let's pray so father we thank you for these bills we thank you Lord that they can come across as a barometer that we can see what's in our hearts and Lord we say search me o God and know my heart try me and know my anxious thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me and Lead Me lead us in your way Everlasting in Jesus name we pray amen so thank you everybody I'm Chris beiberg the director of the national House of Prayer and we'll see you next time
