The convoy issue has resulted in much polarization in our communities. It has created division in families and in the family of God. This inquiry has the potential to generate further discord. When the truth is uncovered, we will be tempted to point the finger.
Our prayer is that when truth exposes sinful hearts and motives, that our hearts will remain in an attitude of mercy. James commends us not to presume to take a position of judgement but rather to take a posture of humility. Isaiah 58 ties our ability to show mercy to this place where God answers our prayers and satisfies our needs.
“If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”
Isaiah 58:9b – 12
- Pray for the church that we would be able to truly live that greatest commandment – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. and Love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22: 37, 39)
- Pray that we would pursue humility and be merciful towards others, and that we would pray for those who persecute us so we may be sons of God. (Matthew 5: 44, 45)
- Pray for the good things of the Kingdom to be released into the lives of those you may not agree with. Light displaces darkness.(John 1:5)

The Emergencies Act Inquiry began on Thursday October 13, 2022. The commission must submit a report to Parliament by February 2023. As this deadline is set by statute, it cannot be extended. This means that they have to hear all of the testimonies in short time. The Prime Minister is expected to testify along with other officials including some senior Cabinet Ministers. Convoy leaders will also be testifying.
The Commission is also seeking submissions from members of the public. Click on the link to the Public Order Emergency Commission ‘Share Your views’ page. They are looking for contributions from all members of the public on their experiences, views, observations, and ideas in order to carry out its mandate and fully appreciate how these matters affected Canadians.
You will find guidelines for your submissions and even some specific questions to answer. Please note that submissions will only be accepted until October 31, 2022.
- Pray for all members of the commission and for Judge Rouleau that they would administrate this inquiry with unbiased integrity.
- Pray that nothing is swept under the rug and that everything that needs to be exposed be brought into the light.
- Pray for all witnesses that they would have the courage to speak the truth.

Commissioner Paul Rouleau and the Emergencies Act review committee
Prime Minister Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on February 14 to address a “public order emergency” brought on by the Freedom Convoy protests against vaccine mandates. He suspended the emergency declaration on February 23, before the Senate had a chance to vote on whether to affirm or reject the invocation of the Emergencies Act. An inquiry is required and the commission must submit a report to Parliament less than 360 days after the emergency’s suspension.
After a 4-week delay, the hearings are set to begin on Thursday October 13, 2022. It will conclude on November 25, 2022. The hearings will be televised on CPAC.
- Pray that all political agendas are exposed and that righteousness will prevail.
- Pray that there would be light shone into the situation so that all Canadians will be able to see the truth.
- Pray that the committee remain non-partisan in there inquiry and investigation.
