“I said to myself, ‘God will bring into judgement both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.’ “
– Ecclesiastes 3:17

YOUNG ADULTS RISING

This week NHOP hosted a team of young adults from World Renew, a Christ-centered humanitarian organization. These young adults are university students from across Canada who wanted to learn more about developmental assistance, biblical advocacy and the role of prayer in impacting public policy. They took time to meet with parliamentarians and press for constructive change in government priorities.
It is exciting to see members of this next generation rising to impact our society through prayer and action.
PRAYER POINTS FOR THE YOUTH OF CANADA
- PRAY for the Christian young adults in Canada to be stirred to a deeper level of prayer for our nation and a deeper desire to be informed and activated.
- PRAY for a deep and growing interest in civic issues to be birthed in the hearts of our Christian young adults.
PRAY for God to raise up voices of truth, justice and righteousness amongst our young adults.
A HEART FOR THE NATION

There are currently a number of issues in our nation which are causing divisionbetween provinces, regions and groups. Perhaps the most visible of these is the current debate over pipelines, causing a dispute between the governments of Alberta and British Columbia.
Although viewpoints on the issues will vary, it is imperative that Canadians maintain a heart for the national interest and not just for their province, region or people group. Debates and disagreements are inevitable in a federation of provinces such as Canada, but if we place a high value on the national interest, healthy compromises can be made and agreements reached.
PRAYER POINTS FOR A HEALTHY FEDERATION
- PRAY for Canadians to have a heart for national unity and a spirit of deference to one another.
- PRAY for wisdom for our leaders as they sort through these issues looking for resolution.
- PRAY that our leaders would have a heart for the national interest as they work through issues which impact multiple jurisdictions.
NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST

On May 8, 2018, the 53rd National Prayer Breakfast will take place in Ottawa. This is an annual Christian event offered under the auspices of the Speaker of the Senate on behalf of the Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast Group. It allows our elected public officials to gather together with men and women from different backgrounds to pray and connect through our shared Christian faith.
PRAYER POINTS FOR THE NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST
PRAY for the National Prayer Breakfast to impact all who attend with the reality and the hope of the gospel.
PRAY that this Christ centered gathering will continue to represent its core values without compromise.
PRAY for the young Canadians who registered for the National Youth Summit, which happens concurrently with the National Prayer Breakfast.
NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE – May 10, 2018

The National March for Life in Ottawa, the largest annual rally on Parliament Hill, has been set for May 10, 2018, and the theme for this year’s march is “PRO-LIFE. ALL IN.” Pro-lifers will gather on Parliament Hill to demand that our laws once again uphold the right to life which is inherent to every human being. The March for Life is the largest annual demonstration on Parliament Hill, and a sign that ending abortion is the civil rights movement of our day.
PRAYER POINTS FOR THE NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE
- PRAY for impact and a continued growing public awareness that an honest and open discussion about abortion “rights” is long overdue.
- PRAY that there would be no security incidents at the March, and that it would be a peaceful expression of support for life.
PRAY that the media would grant fair and balanced coverage to the event.
LEGALIZATION of MARIJUANA

This last week, the Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples recommended that the Bill’s implementation be delayed by one year to allow time for proper consultations with Indigenous communities. Other committees are studying the Bill and will be reporting shortly. Continue to cover this important issue in prayer!
PRAYER POINTS FOR BILL C-45
- PRAY for a clear, unbiased analysis by the Senate resulting in constructive amendments to mitigate the harm of legalization.
PRAY that all of our Canadian towns and cities will implement and enforce bylaws which protect citizens and especially our youth.
PRAY for citizens to engage at their local level to influence their municipal leaders to pass bylaws that will protect their neighbourhood.
