September Prayer Points

Consider: we reign with Christ; through prayer we can influence the spiritual atmosphere in places and situations where the Holy Spirit is present to bring an entirely different atmosphere. This is doing something that politicians cannot do.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33

Prayer Points

Pray that we will remove from our thinking any unhealthy view of government as our primary provider or a system to save us.

When we pray for the welfare of our politicians, cities and communities, it's so that we all can live in peaceful and quiet lives.

Pray that God would prompt people to consider what would make our country better for our children and our future before they vote.

Pray for the Church in Canada to be stirred by the Holy Spirit to vote in numbers that will result in the election of just and righteous leaders.

Pray for Christians who are inclined to think that they shouldn't be involved in politics or voting to come to a biblical understanding of our responsibility as citizens to engage in this freedom to choose our leaders.

Pray that God would provoke the conscience of the nation on issues of morality, righteousness, and respect for the least among us.

A free and independent press is important in a healthy democracy.

Pray for the journalists and reporters to conduct themselves with integrity and fairness as they cover this election. Canadians will listen to respected people who can competently relay information to us.

Pray for Canadians to vote with righteous conviction--not being swayed by emotions or media polls when they cast their vote.

The omnipotence of God means eternal, unshakeable refuge in the everlasting glory of God no matter what happens on this earth. And that confidence is the power of radical obedience to the call of God.

Is there anything more freeing, more thrilling, or more strengthening than the truth that God Almighty is your refuge--all day, every day in all the ordinary and extraordinary experiences of life? John Piper~Desiring God

Voting is an opportunity to promote, protect, and preserve good government.

When we don't show up to vote, what does that say about what we value?
