National Fast and Feast Initiative

March 1, 2022

We are Partnering with our friend Shirley Hildebrand at Stand on Guard Canada during this Lent season (March 2, 2022 - April 14, 2022) in their National Fast and Feast Initiative

Instead of the usual Lent fast of food, chocolate, media etc., the idea is to focus on attitudes pertaining to the heart and mind.

"Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes."

Romans 12:2 TPT

FAST from

  1.         NEGATIVITY and replacing them with life-giving words and thoughts.

  2.         GRUMBLING and complaining (criticism and accusations falls under curses)

  3.         DISAGREEING (with others) in criticism and judgment about what we are seeing and hearing

  4.         TAKING OFFENSE by being diligent not to take the ‘bait’ to react, but rather overcome evil with good (Rom 12:18-21)

FEAST with

  1.          PRAISE &THANKSGIVING (Note: praise pushes back confusion & darkness)

  2.           FORGIVENESS for accusations, judgments, hurt and critical words from others

  3.           AGREEMENT with others in God’s Word, promises and perspective

  4.           BLESSINGS by declaring the “goodness of God” to those in opposition (Note: Romans 2:4 declares that the “goodness of God” leads to repentance.)

"Is it possible that fresh and bitter water can flow out of the same spring? So neither can a bitter spring produce fresh water."

James 3:11, 12 TPT
